Design Museum Foundation: User Experience Design
The DMF?is?new kind of museum focused on educating the world about design. Based in Boston, but nomadic in nature, they create exhibits and?host events all over the country. In redesigning their website we conducted?research?including?user and staff interviews, surveys, and ethnography?to?better understand?each type of stakeholder and audience member. This lead to the insight that the Museum?needed a “before and after” approach to content surrounding a given exhibition which we captured during our wireframing phase. To this end, we designed the site to not only drive awareness and interest for?upcoming exhibitions, but also to capture?content for?post-event audience engagement and long tail content strategy. Additionally, we worked with the Museum to create?a? sponsored?“permanent collection” for their website in much the same way that a physical museum might have a sponsored gallery.
